Kick Unhealthy Habits to the Curb and Feel Great!

All of us have probably had times in our lives when we didn’t feel well. We may have had a cold, the flu, or something like appendicitis, kidney stones or an infected gallbladder that needed to come out.

These temporary events of not feeling well are normal. The chances of a human being living out an entire lifespan without ever having a day or a brief period of time being unwell are slim to none.

But, although not feeling your best occasionally is normal and to be expected, the sad truth is that for many people, it has become the norm to feel badly most of the time, with only brief periods of feeling healthy and good.

In other words, many folks are living lives that are exactly the opposite of the way nature intended them to live….with bad health gradually being considered normal and good health the exception to that rule.

Isn’t this a tragic state of affairs?

Isn’t it sad that we have come to accept a state of poor health as “normal?”

Heads Up! Illness, poor health, insomnia, lack of vitality and energy, pain and discomfort----these things are not normal! Nor should we allow ourselves to consider this kind of life as a natural state of affairs.

Naturally, our bodies are designed to enjoy bountiful health, vibrant energy, vitality, and a zest for life that comes from being in a state of homeostasis, with our systems all working together in balance as they were meant to be.

So, what has gone wrong?

Why are so many of us going through our days feeling listless, drained of energy, riddled with aches, pains and various symptoms of poor health and disease?

Frankly, much of this can be accounted for by bad habits. This means the kind of habits that are undermining our health, destroying our natural state of homeostasis, making us feel old before our time, sick and tired.

We keep hearing these dire warnings from the government about the necessity of raising taxes to pay for the ever-increasing cost of health care.

Instead of raising taxes to cover the escalating cost of health care caused by the increasing incidence of poor health among the citizenry, wouldn’t it make more sense to spend some money educating people about the ways they can kick those bad habits that are making them unwell, and start replacing them with healthy habits that will promote wellness?

For instance, how many of us opt for a fast meal of junk food from a drive through window instead of a healthy breakfast, lunch or dinner?

How many of us eat dinner and then immediately hit the couch for a sedentary evening of watching television---after sitting all day at a desk---instead of going for a healthy walk that will burn calories, promote restful sleep, improve our cardiovascular systems and joint health along with numerous other health benefits?

How many of us reach for a soft drink when we’re thirsty instead of healthy filtered water?

You can break these bad habits! Kick them to the curb and start replacing them with good habits that will help your body achieve and maintain a natural, healthy balance.

For instance, when you’re feeling a little off color and maybe coming down with a cold, wouldn’t it better to take natural health supplements such as Echinacea instead of harsh, often toxic chemical drugs that can have life threatening side effects?

Instead of heading for the couch or recliner after a Big Mac with fries and a super size Coke….eat a dinner of lean meat and a green salad, then get out and walk for at least a half hour.

You might be amazed at how much better you would feel if you ditched the bad habits that are dragging you down and gave your body a fighting chance to enjoy radiant good health as nature intended!

If more of the populace would do this, then there would be no need to raise taxes to pay for rising costs of health care, because people would be healthier and in less need of costly health care!

Makes sense, doesn’t it?
